Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock or so it seems as we wait for the green light to go back to church, to shake hands, to hug a stranger, and to Celebrate the Mass!
I have never been a patient person, but God has a way of challenging me in the things that I know I am weak in. This week has been filled with medical appointments. So far I have experienced at least three different MRI’s, multiple medical visits to some doctors office and I cannot forget the chiropractors office. I now possess a wrist brace, neck brace and back brace, SHAZAM! God is reminding me every day to take care of myself. My children are fussing with me as they use the language of “social distancing”, something that is foreign to me. I like people and I like being around people. One thing for sure, this time in social distancing can allow one to be creative and share with others in a different way. I read and re-read the words of Kitty O’Mearea (Wednesday’s edition of our newsletter).
Starting next Wednesday, weather permitting, let us try “Communion on the Go or Drive Through Communion”. Yes, I saw another Episcopal Church in Philadelphia providing communion for her members and I think it’s a good idea. It will allow you to stay in your car and be safe and it allows me to be safe. The only requirement I ask is that you pray before communion and come prepared to be in line with other members. Communion will begin at 12:15 p.m. in conjunction with our healing service. If you wish to receive unction (anointing) for healing this will also be provided.
